Cite bell hooks essay on photographs as a symbol

I don’t remember the first time I fell in love with writing, but I do remember one of the times. I was sitting in my University Writing course, the very first day, and we read ___ by bell hooks.

As I read her words on why photography was so important to the Black community, I felt myself understand my parents more. Mind you, that didn’t change the fact that I refused to let my parents take pictures of me.
