You Get a Better Life When You Get 'Better At Living' Life

Getting your mind to focus and concentrate on success - so that it finds solutions instead of focusing on the problems is usually the difference between success and failure. It's been proven by researchers and by some of the most successful people in the world.

My oldest son is a performer who is in the difficult situation of having orthodontic work done and needing braces on his lower teeth for the next ten months. He spent his teenage years sporting braces but didn't keep his retainer on long enough after he had them off and eventually the lower teeth came out of alignment.

This is the kiss of death for a performer! “I wish I could go back and tell the younger me that if he doesn’t wear his retainer, he’s going to lose a year of his life later,” he told me.

This set back, however, doesn’t seem to have deterred him, as he is still sending head shots and résumé’s across the country, hoping to get invited to auditions.

Someone asked him if he didn’t think that the braces were going to be a problem when it came to getting work in the next year. “I can’t even think of that”, he said. “If I think that it is a problem, then I will be very conscious of it and so will everyone else. Then it really will be a problem.” Smart boy, I thought!

A few days later, I was listening to Wayne Dyer’s PBS Special on the 'Power of Inspiration'. One thing that he said impacted me. He suggested that everyday we think the following: “What I desire is on its way.” He went on to say that if we think this regularly we will spend our days in a heightened state of anticipation, eagerly looking for clues as to how our dreams and goals are to be manifested.

What a wonderful way to focus on success. Everything that someone says or every situation you find yourself in, you will stop and wonder if this is related in some way to manifesting your goals. Is this someone you are supposed to meet? What is the lesson to be learned from this relationship? How is this conversation important? It is similar to that heightened state of anticipation and excitement right before your birthday or Christmas when you were a child.

When you train your mind to focus on finding solutions; instead of looking for problems, you direct your subconscious mind to create the opportunities for you to succeed.

When your mind is focused on your goals you direct your subconscious to create opportunities for you to achieve your goals. Your responsibility is to look for clues and follow up on the opportunities.

One more way that you can get a better life by getting 'Better At Living' the one that you've got!

You can change your life
You can make it better
You just have to get 'Better At Living' it!
